Amy Ouradnik

Principal of Aurora Decorative Finishes LLC, Amy Ouradnik is a decorative artist and designer based in Minneapolis, Mn.

Her knowledge of decorative finishes, gilding and verre eglomise techniques are well known in the Twin Ciites. Her handmade wallcoverings at 5th & Malcolm, and recent launch of artwork with Area Environments has created unique  new opportunities for working with interior designers, architects and homeowners. She enjoys bringing spaces to life through visual artistry and material alchemy.

education and training

Amy graduated from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design with a BFA in Fine Art/Printmaking. After two years spent traveling in Europe and Asia, she then worked for 10 years installing artwork in local museums and galleries, including the Minneapolis Institute of Art, The Weisman Art Museum and the Minnesota Museum of Modern Art.
Amy furthered her training in the decorative arts by studying with world renown instructors such as Pierre La Fumat, Pascal Amblard, Michele Santilli and many others at the North American School of Decorative Art, Chicago as well as gilders: Miriam Ellner, Lynne Rutter, and Sandra Spannan.  She is a proud member of the Society of Gilders.
In 2000, she founded Aurora Decorative Finishes LLC and continues to collaborate with fellow artisans and designers in the Twin Cities and around the country, which have included projects in Boston, Duluth, New York City, Kuwait, Dubai,  & Naples.  Amy received her  BAA in Interior Design at Century College in 2014.
